As a first time blogger and a guest of Banks Kitchen Shop, I think you should know a little

ABOUT ME:

My name is Lisa and I’m a home cook. Quite simply, I grew up sitting on the kitchen counter. Our family life was based in the kitchen - eating food, talking about food or preparing food. I spent my childhood (and now) licking copious amounts of raw meringue, cake batter, tasting and helping out in the kitchen. My mom is a fantastic home cook as is my gran - both with a passion for producing delicious food that is simple and easy to make. I share the same passion. I love baking most of all.

I love eating good food. I love seeing the happiness that delicious food brings and I love when my husband and children tell me how yummy it was. I am an Audiologist by profession and so cooking and food could not be further from that. But here I am, recipes in hand, kitchen and utensils at the ready to grow my love of food.

I run cooking classes out of the demo kitchen at Banks Kitchen Shop, Sea Point. My recipes are simple - good food, easy to prepare and with the love of food in mind.

I am not affiliated to Banks Kitchen Shop in any way but they have always been my go-to shop for my kitchen and was of course a first choice for my wedding gift registry.

With each blog I write for Banks Kitchen Shop, I will include an easy to follow recipe and the amazing products used to make them, all available from the Banks stores or online.

So here goes…

Crunchies.

A South African biscuit favourite that most home cooks can make with their eyes closed but everyone just loves to eat. They are very similar to the Anzac biscuit from Australia but of course, I think ours are better. This recipe is a twist on the traditional recipe and contains chocolate- who can resist chocolate!
